Missile work can be a dirty job, but someone’s got to do it. We’re experienced with compact missiles to get into those tight places a directional or traditional drill won’t fit.
Horizontal directional drilling (HDD) is a specialized drilling technique used to install underground cables and conduits. Unlike traditional vertical drilling, HDD allows for the installation of utility lines without disrupting the surface above.
During the HDD process, a small drilling rig is used to create a horizontal bore path beneath the ground. This path is carefully guided to avoid obstacles, such as existing utilities, and to ensure precision. Once the desired path is established, a conduit or cable is inserted into the drilled hole, providing a secure and protected passage for various utilities, including telecommunications, electrical, or fiber optic cables.
HDD offers several advantages, including minimal surface disruption, reduced environmental impact, and the ability to install utilities in areas that were previously inaccessible. By utilizing this method, construction activities can be carried out more efficiently and cost-effectively.
